Through the Gate
A laid back dance tune from Zedoka. Kick and percussion samples are not from the Gdrive refill.

Dragons

Softly Gdrive

An uplifting,  melodic mp3 featuring layered pads and an overdriven guitar patch.

The 4th Kind

A Morning Trance song by Zedoka. This one has brassy horns and Osc synced groove. Once again the Drum samples are not from the Gdrive collection.

Description
This Refill was designed for musicians and sound designers. It features raw oscillator multi samples from 14 classic analogue synths. With these raw samples you can make your own sounds and patches or edit the presets with full control over filter and envelope settings.

The Samples
There are complex, evolving waves including Pulsewidth modulated, x-modulated, osc-synced, detuned, chorused, and chorus ensembled oscillators. As well as simple waves ranging from Saw and Square to combinations of saw, tri and square. These waveforms sound different coming from different synths. The Roland Sh3a saw wave, for example, sounds gritty while a Korg Polysix Saw is much softer and smoother.
Tube preamps were used when recording and each sample was then looped, tuned and polished in software. Every third note across the keyboards was recorded to minimize the unwanted side effects of pitch shifting. While this can result in larger file sizes, it ensures that each sample is only tuned up or down by a maximum of one semitone. In each group the samples usually range from C# 0 to A# 5 although in cases where this was not possible the range was cropped slightly.

The Patches
The patches are in NNXT(sxt), NN19(smp), Reason2.5(rns) and Combinator(cmb) file formats. The Combinator and Reason2.5  patches are essentially the same however the combinator patches offer simplified controls for musicians who are not experienced sound designers. For those with more experience, basic patches in smp and sxt formats are also included. There are no rhythmic loops or musical riffs in The Gdrive Sample Collection. It was designed for people to make original music and sounds. Put simply, Gdrive provides the raw samples to create lush pads, detuned trance Saw leads, Big bass and everything in between. Full control means you can make your own sounds.

System Requirements
Recommended: A 1400 MHz or faster processor, 256 mb ram and a high quality, low latency soundcard with ASIO drivers. While not essential, a velocity sensitive midi controller keyboard is also desirable.

Minimum: A 900 MHz processor with 128 mb ram. Older, slower computers tend to have longer loading times and higher latency. Although the largest sample group in the refill is 19 mb, the majority lie below the 5 mb mark and will work well in most situations.

Note for Mac OS users: The Gdrive Refill file will work on both Mac and Windows operating systems. However the installer is for Windows only. It is possible to install on Macs using windows emulation, or to install on a PC and then transfer the Refill to your Mac..
